Automated Flatbed Grain Stirrer With Gsm Module

This Automated Flatbed Grain Stirrer for Drying Rice with GSM Module is a machine developed to help small scale farmers to dry rice grains with ease. Equipped with Global System for Mobile Communications Module (GSM), the machine can be automatically controlled, and the user can receive updates regarding the status of the rice grains (temperature, moisture content, rain update). Its objective is to develop a module that will stir the rice grains and  cover the rice grains automatically in response to the rain and temperature sensor; use GSM Module for the user to be updated about the rice grains’ status; and a module to check the rice grains’ moisture content.

The machine has AC and DC motors that help in stirring the rice. Once the machine is turned on, the stirring module will automatically start, and it will cycle once every 30 minutes. It also has DHT22 sensors that will help in measuring the moisture content and temperature of the rice grains. Once the temperature reaches 50C, the cover of the machine will automatically close to avoid too much heat absorption of the rice grains that may cause the grains to crack inside. The machine also has a rain sensor that will detect whether it is raining or not. Once a drop of water touches the sensor, the cover of the machine will automatically close, and a notification will be sent to the user (thru GSM). Once the sensor is already dried, the machine cover will automatically open. There is also an alarm that will go off once the rice grains are measured dry.

This project is still on its development stage and to be completed around February 2022.
