Hardware Online Sales and Inventory System

Hardware Online Sales and Inventory System

Hardware Online Sales and Inventory System is an online-based sales and inventory management system that includes online ordering of hardware products. The system can be accessed through desktop computers, tablets, or any smartphone that is connected to the internet. It can be used by the customers and store management to manage online and offline transactions.

Val’s Construction Supply is a hardware store managed by the owner and employees. Technically, Val’s Construction Supply only uses a manual system to sell and manage hardware products that uses physical counting of stocks. Val’s Construction Supply encountered problems with the manual system, in accordance with cashiering, they encountered incorrect calculations that affected generation of their sales reports and produced an error in properly recording sales. Manual inventory creates inaccurate records because the quantity of available products recorded in the record book does not match the actual number of products available in the store. By doing so, generating inventory reports can lead to an incorrect data input.

The developers developed Hardware Online Sales and Inventory System to enhance the overall sales and inventory management of the store by automating the data of online and offline transactions. The system will help avoid miscalculation because the system will automatically calculate purchased orders form the customers and suppliers, and it will ensure the accuracy of inventory reports because inventory data is synced to the point of sale. The generated system will automatically generate the latest reports that will be used to improve the process of monitoring hardware business operations. The developed system will enhance data security and prevent cashiering fraud by ensuring that only authorized persons can access confidential information such as sales reports by storing them in a database. with backup that can be restored in case of data loss.

The scope of the developed system is to design, develop, and implement an enhanced sales and inventory management system in addition to online ordering of hardware products. With the improved system, the generation of reports and receipts as well as the calculation for each transaction will be more accurate. It can also manage offline and online transactions and easily track stocks of products within the store. The system contains modules such as sales, inventory, online transactions, file maintenance, reports, and utilities to handle general store operations. Furthermore, it is further improved because it now has an interface where customers can buy hardware products online as long as they have an account.
